Tuning Note

Tuning your bass with the gated extension:

• Start with only the bottom gate at the nut closed and all other gates open.
• Tune the string up until it is just below pitch.
  Note: The tension of the string above the nut is now higher than it is below the nut.
• Open the bottom gate and re-close it. This evens out the tension along the entire string and brings the string to be closer up to pitch.
• Repeat if necessary until the string is in tune.
