Krutz 200 - Excellent Value
Posted by Robert Wilson on 24th Oct 2016
I initially rented my new Krutz 200 bass to take it for a "test drive" for playability, tone, projection, etc. Its first real workout came as the bass member of a 4-man on-stage band for 30 performances of 'Always, Patsy Cline'. I used a single bridge pickup into a Fender Rumble 350 amp, DI'd into the house sound system. The bass sounded incredible! It had wonderful tone and sustain with just enough harmonic overtones to really cut through the mix while providing a solid bottom end to the country music in the show. The next outings, other than practice sessions at home, were weekly rehearsals and two concerts (so far) with the community orchestra. This, of course, gave me a chance to hear, feel and evaluate the bass in a totally different musical environment. Again, the Krutz 200 had remarkable tone and projection... So much, in fact, that the principle trombonist came over to me during the second rehearsal and remarked that he was able to hear the bass section much more clearly than before I had the new bass.
I have obviously now purchased this fine instrument and am looking forward to many years of practice and performance with it. I also purchased a Mooradian Deluxe padded bag to protect the bass during travel to and from rehearsals and performances. In conclusion, I have found that the more I play this bass the better it feels and sounds. I would highly recommend the a Krutz bass to anyone who is looking for a quality instrument for music of any stlye.
