K.C. Strings Celebrating 25 Years!

To all of our new clients this season, WELCOME to the K.C. Strings community!

We are honored to play a part in helping you succeed as a musician.

Recently, in our newsletters, we have been sharing a series of stories covering the rich musical lineage of the Krutz family (our founders), what brought them to America from Russia and how K.C. Strings began!

From The Past To Today - Part 4

The Beginning of K.C. Strings
There was no physical shop when Misha convinced his son, Anton, to move back to Kansas City. Instead, Anton made instruments while Misha would bring them to work at the Kansas City Symphony and let the other musicians try them out. The instruments were a hit, the professional symphony musicians loved Anton's creations... the AK's!

It was time to invest into a location and one thing after another fell in place in order to finance it. As Misha has described:
"With all of our success we have an endless list of people who have helped us!"
Not only did they have the support of others but also the support of the City of Merriam when searching for a building. The City of Merriam was selling a building in their downtown area and was excited for the idea of K.C. Strings making its home in it. After successfully transforming the building, K.C. Strings also bought the original Johnson County Library next door, which was damaged by a great flood and revitalized it into a studio for music lessons.
The starting crew of K.C. Strings in 1995. Many still work for the company to this day!
Since then, K.C. Strings has continued to grow and gain popularity locally and nationally. Anton and Misha have established a satellite location in Olathe, KS and St. Louis, MO (St. Louis Strings). K.C. Strings not only rents and sells instruments out to locals near their shops but they also have many clients around the world (China, Ireland, etc.)!

The success of K.C. Strings has only been possible due to the people, as Misha has  beautifully said: "It’s history of the people. That’s the most interesting thing of the company. It’s not the sales going up and down, it’s the history of the people."
